I designed and built a custom website for Brighton-based artist Nick Gardner to showcase and manage his artwork online. The site was structured to support two main artwork types — Works on Paper and Works on Canvas — making it easy for visitors to browse different collections.
To keep the process simple for the artist, I created a streamlined artwork upload system using custom fields. When adding a new piece, Nick simply uploads the image and completes a set of fields including:
- Dimensions
- Mediums used
- Description
- Price
- Availability status (For Sale / Sold)
Category options allow each artwork to be assigned to the appropriate collection and sale status. This automatically controls where the piece appears across the website, such as gallery pages and availability sections.
This setup ensures the site remains easy for the artist to update while keeping the artwork catalogue organised and visually consistent for visitors.
